Are you ready for a season of excitement, passion, and groundbreaking achievements? Look no further, because we are proud to introduce you to Rockland County's very own all-girls ice hockey team! Our journey began in the midst of adversity in the height of the pandemic, but we emerged stronger than ever, as the first-ever official Section 1 All Girls Rockland County Varsity Ice Hockey Team in Rockland County, New York. Join us as we embark on an incredible journey filled with dedication, teamwork, and the love of the game.

Our Story:

In the winter of 2020, when the world was facing unprecedented challenges due to a global pandemic, our dream took root. After years of planning, and despite the obstacles, our girls came together from various high schools across Rockland County, united by a common passion for hockey. We didn't let the circumstances deter us; instead, we used them as fuel to become trailblazers in our community.

 

Breaking Barriers:

We are more than just a team; we are a movement. Our presence as the county’s first all-girls varsity ice hockey team represents breaking down barriers and shattering stereotypes. We believe in the power of girls in sports and are determined to make history with every stride we take on the ice.

 

Strength in Diversity:

Our team is a vibrant tapestry of talent, bringing together girls from different high schools and backgrounds. This diversity is our strength, as we celebrate our differences while working towards a common goal: victory on the ice and unity in our community.

Club Mission Statement: 

The members of the Rockland Rockies Inc. Booster Club (we) believe girls ice hockey builds character, confidence, resilience, and achievement in our student athletes by promoting sportsmanship, personal responsibility and teamwork.  We believe a girls-only ice hockey program cultivates a unique environment of mutual support, collaboration, and camaraderie. We are dedicated to strengthening and stimulating participation in girls’ ice hockey by providing resources that contribute to:

• every player's favorable experience with the Rockland Rockies NYS Section 1 team,

• an increase in the number of Rockland schools offering Girls' Varsity Ice Hockey to their students,

• and the overall growth of this sport for girls.
